Speaking of up being time to talk, I think about the jobs that I’ve had and all those screens. Head DOWNas I wait for the door sound to ring, a customer walks in I look up to greet. Listening only for a moment then back DOWNto a screen. I was programmed to believe that everything I need is below me. Is below me. Is below me. So, I look DOWNbecause that what I have been taught to be my primary source of needs. Social interactions, all the same, they sell us cheap tickets to sit high up and look DOWNat a game. Then sell us expensive seats right DOWNon the floor, and in most cases, those fortunate individuals spend most of their time DOWNon their phones, which brings us to our main event. After reading my defended case on how DOWNis killing us in this persuasive blog, you wonder what’s the point, right? No? You we not thinking that? Okay, getting to its smartphones, smartwatches and just everything that comes with this horrific technology era are killing our brains. Looking DOWNnever meant anything useful, but we are addicted to the gratification of others and the destruction of ourselves. Trained to look DOWN, when we are at dinner DOWNon our phones. When our kids don't allow us to breathe, we shove technology DOWNtheir throats. Teach us not to appreciate the moment but take a picture so we can then look DOWNon us. And from looking DOWN, we notice the imperfection of the photos. Finding ways to perfect it by applying filters. We retake the picture so that when it is seen it is admired by most but yet we are still the same us after we post. We look DOWNus again to see how many people commented and liked, we examine DOWNon us for validation from others and say it’s for ourselves. It’s funny because being DOWNis good where I’m from, so much they made it a thing if you aren’t DOWNyou would be considered a loser or a chump. RECOMMEND SOLUTION to the DOWNsyndrome: Looking up putting your devices away in social settings. I was talking to a friend yesterday about taking DOWNone of my Facebook accounts after one-week on a social media fast. Facebook now allows users to DOWNload all of their data and delete their about after a 14-day period is undergone without logging in. Which we all know that fourteen days have you regretting deleting it and only the strong will survive. Ending that because I can go on for days about policies and so on but my point I deleted my Facebook DOWNloaded all of my data and begin to watch videos of myself that I care more about recording then actually being in the moment and couldn’t remember a lot of those moments. You better believe that got me DOWN, no pun intended. Moral of the story…. Look up and only look DOWNwhen its money on the ground 202 say it backward. Emmanuel Simms
